A ‘movement’ usually involves change in anything that happens.
We also raised money for Haiti and try and help people when they need it. It’s not only about money, I understand what your saying but I think your missing the point behind flash mob america. It’s not about $ signs to them or anyone else who does it with this group.. I see you are the ‘greatest person ever’
just try and think out of the box a little and look at more than one of their videos.

Oh okay as long as you are okay with it, then we’ll keep on dancing…
The fact is, is that FMA has been around for over a year now changing lives, creating joy, raising money, helping people, and much more.. This is a strong and passionate group and they cannot “Be Bought” in the way You describe. -

@N1njaP1rate – If that’s true, I’m more okay with it. Then your participation still comes from a genuine place. The idea that flashmobs can be bought is disheartening, but the blow is dampened by the fact that you did it out of the passion for it. Thanks for sharing that vital bit. The video doesn’t do a good job of conveying anything like that.

@justinamirkhani – Except they didn’t tell us we were going to be paid until after everyone had signed up; we did it because it was fun! Also, the point is that we have fun dancing and the people around us have fun watching, so does it really matter if it’s not a “traditional” flashmob? (And people coming down from the elevators in alien hats still seems pretty random to me… just saying.)

@flashmobamerica – Entering with the hats announces your presence more than the traditional flashmob. Especially when you come parading down the escalators it doesn’t seem random or impromptu (the desired effect). From the outset it looks staged and disingenuous.
Of course, this is also overlooking the big misstep of accepting corporate sponsorship. It’s easy to get people to do things when you’re paying them.
